Traffic Reorganization on Ronda Urbana Norte Due to Seville Metro Works

The main road in the Andalusian capital will experience nightly closures this week to advance the construction of Metro Line 3 North.

The Ronda Urbana Norte in Seville will implement a new traffic reorganization this week, with scheduled nightly closures, to allow for the continuation of the Line 3 North Metro tunnel works.

This remodeling, which will maintain two lanes per direction and speed limits of 30 kilometers per hour, aims to reconcile the works with vehicle traffic on one of the city's main communication routes. The main novelty is the relocation of the work to the other side of the ring road, after the affected roadway has been recovered, where the retaining walls and roof slab have already been executed.
After the complete execution of the first phase of the Line 3 North Metro works at the Ronda Urbana Norte intersection, this reorganization will allow the second phase to begin on the South bank. For this, traffic closures on the Ronda Urbana Norte will be necessary during the first days of the week, from 00:00 to 06:00 hours.
The first closure is scheduled for the early morning of Tuesday, May 12, and will only affect traffic towards the Puente del Alamillo. The second closure will occur at midnight on Wednesday, May 13, in the direction of Polígono Calonge and the A-92.
The implementation of the new traffic layout will be carried out progressively between May 11 and 13, concentrating the main actions during nighttime hours to minimize mobility impacts. On Monday, May 11, concrete barriers of the New Jersey type will be placed on the north side of the SE-30 during the day, without affecting traffic.
During the night of Tuesday, May 12, between 00:00 and 06:00 hours, the first phase will be executed with the closure and diversion of traffic towards the Puente del Alamillo, reducing the Málaga bound direction to one lane. The objective is to relocate the concrete barriers to the new median and adapt the corresponding horizontal signage. Once these works are completed, on Tuesday, May 12, two lanes per direction will remain open, with the new median temporarily delimited by cones. Finally, in the early morning of Wednesday, May 13, at the same time, traffic will be cut in the East direction (A-92) for the final placement of the New Jersey barriers and the painting of the new circulation lines corresponding to this new phase of work.
