Renfe has organized a special transport operation with 3,000 seats on direct trains from Madrid and San Sebastián, plus 4,000 additional seats, to facilitate the arrival of fans in Seville for the Copa del Rey final this Saturday.

The railway company Renfe has launched an extraordinary transport plan for the Copa del Rey final, scheduled for this Saturday, April 18, in Seville. This operation includes four special trains connecting Madrid to the Andalusian capital and two others linking San Sebastián with Seville, one for each direction.
These special services offer a total of 3,000 seats for fans. Trains from Madrid will depart early on Saturday morning (7:30 AM and 8:25 AM), returning from Santa Justa station after the match. From San Sebastián, a special outbound train will depart in the early hours of Saturday at 2:10 AM, arriving directly at La Cartuja at 10:40 AM, with the return journey also from La Cartuja after the game. Tickets for these services have been managed through agencies and operators responsible for fan travel.
In addition to the special trains, Renfe has increased its regular service on the Madrid-Seville route with 4,000 extra seats. These additional seats will be available between Friday, April 17, and Sunday, April 19, thanks to six reinforced trains operating with double their usual capacity. The company will also boost staff presence at origin and destination stations to assist travelers and will coordinate with Security Forces to ensure smooth and safe passenger flow.
Concurrently, the final is impacted by an indefinite strike by air traffic controllers called by the Unión Sindical de Controladores Aéreos (USCA) at airports managed by Saerco, including the control towers in Seville and Jerez. The strike, which begins this Saturday, April 18, continues due to a lack of agreement between the parties, potentially affecting flight schedules. The union alleges staff cuts of up to 33% by Saerco, noting that the Seville tower had 18 controllers in 2012 (public management) but will have only 12 by 2026 (private management), despite a significant increase in operations.
Seville airport will handle approximately fifty additional flights between Friday, April 17, and Sunday, April 19, due to the event, as reported by AENA. To facilitate staggered distribution of flights and passengers, airport facilities will remain open overnight from April 18 to 19. Peak activity is expected on Saturday between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, and on Sunday from early morning until mid-morning.
