Real Jaén has begun its sports planning for the upcoming Primera Federación campaign with the confirmation of its first departure: goalkeeper Javier Rabanillo. The Asturian shot-stopper's contract with the Jaén entity has ended, and he will no longer defend the white goal.
Rabanillo was a key figure throughout the past season, playing a total of 2,610 minutes across 29 matches, all as a starter. He was the undisputed goalkeeper in the regular league, participating in all official games he was available for, except for one Copa del Rey tie.
His performance was crucial for the team's comeback, making decisive saves that contributed to their promotion. His last match in the Real Jaén jersey was the 2-0 victory against Xerez CD at the Nuevo Estadio de la Victoria.
A back injury kept him out of the team during the final stretch of the regular league and the promotion playoffs. His usual substitute, Jaime Morillas, took over the starting position and delivered notable performances in the final matchdays and decisive knockout rounds.
The club has expressed gratitude for Rabanillo's contribution to the promotion and wished him luck in his future professional endeavors.
