The public university system in Andalusia has received 74,626 applications for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. The Regional Ministry of University managed 490,093 requests across the community's nine universities, highlighting a predominance of female applicants and residents within the region.
Seventy-seven percent of applicants reside in Andalusia, while 22% come from other autonomous communities and a small 0.85% are international students. Within the region, Sevilla leads in registrations with 15,098, followed by Málaga (10,449) and Cádiz (8,114).
Students from Extremadura, Castilla La Mancha, and the Canary Islands show the highest demand from other Spanish regions. International students accounted for 3,690 pre-registrations, distributed among European, African, American, and Asian applicants.
Nursing solidifies its position as the most requested degree with 58,823 applications, followed by Medicine (42,527) and Psychology (23,550). Other highly demanded degrees include Physiotherapy, Primary Education, and Business Administration and Management.
Health-related degrees occupy the top twenty preference positions. Nursing at the University of Cádiz is the most popular choice with 13,981 proposals, followed by Nursing in Granada and Sevilla. The next eight spots are for Medicine at various Andalusian public universities.
Regarding first preferences, Medicine at the University of Sevilla (2,252) and Granada (1,544) lead, followed by Nursing from Sevilla (1,446) and Granada (1,318). Veterinary Medicine at Córdoba also ranks among the top ten choices.
The first round of place allocations will be published on July 3rd, with enrollment and confirmation deadlines until July 9th. The second allocation is scheduled for July 16th, with a deadline of July 20th. It is crucial for applicants to check and act in each phase to avoid exclusion from the process.
