The first deputy mayor and councilor for Culture and Tourism, María Espejo, presented the end-of-course event 'Tras mis pasos'. The show will be held this Friday at 8:00 PM at the Teatro Infanta Leonor, marking the culmination of a year dedicated to flamenco.
María Espejo highlighted the importance of the La Gloria Neighborhood Association as a cultural benchmark in Jaén, extending flamenco art beyond their own neighborhood. The event will serve as a cultural meeting point, featuring students from La Gloria, as well as from Los Villares, Cazalilla, the Polígono del Valle, and AVV 'La Unión'.
The councilor congratulated Carlos Santiago, director of the dance group, for his teaching work and Sheila Morales, who started dancing with him at age 3 and is now a teacher. Espejo emphasized that flamenco knows no age and praised the local artistry.
“"It will be a tribute to flamenco and the culmination of a whole year of effort and teaching in this discipline."
Carlos Santiago described the show as the journey and learning process of a student with their teacher, expressing gratitude to the La Gloria Neighborhood Association for 18 years of support and to the Culture Councilor for her constant backing.
“"This show is the journey and path a student takes with their teacher, all their experiences and learning. I will be joined by Sheila, who has been dancing with me since she was 3 years old and now, after adolescence, has started teaching with me."
Lola Rivilla, president of the La Gloria Neighborhood Association, emphasized the passion and talent that drive students to follow their instructors, presenting this event as the closing of the course led by Carlos Santiago and Sheila Morales.
