The exhibition, open to the public at the C3A, which falls under the Regional Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía, features the work developed by the first group of creators selected from the 2025 grant call. The exhibition also includes three live performances.
The participating artists are Elena Bajo, Judit Bou Comas, Inés Cámara Leret, Juan del Junco, Natalia Domínguez, Abel Jaramillo, and Karlos Martínez Bordoy. Their projects explore themes such as transmission, rituals, ecology, social structures, language, and architecture, materialized through installations, sculptures, videos, and sound.
During their residency, the artists have been supported by independent curator Jesús Alcaide. The works will be displayed in studios 1 through 4, the video room, and room 0 of the center.
Open Studios allows visitors to understand the research, experimentation, and production processes developed within the artistic residency program.
The live performances scheduled for the opening are 'un autre chant' by Natalia Domínguez, 'cuatro - dos / cuatro – cuatro – cuatro – cuatro / cuatro / cuatro por cuatro, cuatro veces' by Judit Bou Comas, and 'Artemisia. La tejedora del Tiempo y los Sueños' by Elena Bajo.
The objective of the C3A's artistic residency program is to foster creativity, research, and innovation in contemporary art. Following this initial residency phase, five more creators selected for the 2025 grants will join in September.
