The GRUCA (Association of Carnival Groups) has held its first working meeting for the organization of the upcoming 2027 Carnival Parade. The meeting addressed issues related to organization, infrastructure, and the needs of participating groups.
The president of GRUCA, Francisco Javier Gutiérrez, explained that the assessment of the past parade was very positive, highlighting excellent organization, functioning services and restrooms, and the positive reception of the installed barriers, a measure that will continue.
Among the improvements to be proposed to the Fiestas Delegation is the organization of the evacuation area after the parade concludes. GRUCA believes a larger space is needed on Avenida de la Cruz Roja for groups to gather and for float and element unloading authorization.
Another topic discussed was the management of warehouses for float preparation. Thanks to efforts with the Fiestas Delegation and financial support from the Cádiz Provincial Council, the rental process is nearly complete, although a shortage of available warehouses presents a challenge.
Information was also provided on the status of the municipal subsidy for the group, with the procedure underway and awaiting the signing of an agreement to receive the aid.
Finally, the need to establish common criteria for group participation, particularly regarding type and music, was raised to prevent interference between groups and promote better order during the parade, acknowledging that implementing these changes may be difficult for the next edition.
