Experience has proven to be a significant asset for the archer from the Club Arqueros de Córdoba, Antonio Cubero, who last week became the champion of Andalusia in Outdoor Archery's compound bow category within the Plus50 class. This victory earns him a spot in the Spanish Championship, scheduled to take place this weekend in Madrid.
Cubero will represent Andalusia with the regional team at this major event on the national calendar. His success in Isla Cristina is not accidental, as the athlete, originally from La Rambla, consistently achieves high rankings in competitions. This year, he had already secured first place in the Provincial Championship and the VI Spring Tournament, both held in Castro del Río in April.
Last season, Cubero also won the silver medal at the Outdoor Spanish Championship, again representing the Andalusian team. This result earned him recognition as a high-performance athlete in Andalusia, a testament to his consistency and competitive level.
Over 40 years promoting archery
The achievements of Antonio Cubero reflect the work of the Club Arqueros de Córdoba, an organization that has been promoting this sport for over 40 years. Their dedication has established them as a benchmark in Andalusia, with their greatest success coming in 1999 when they were crowned Spanish Club Champions in Madrid.
The club conducts its training and activities at the sports facilities in Las Margaritas and the shooting range in Alcolea, nurturing new talent and supporting victories in provincial and regional competitions, covering disciplines from traditional archery to compound bow.
