This celebration, revived in 2023 by the City Council of Andújar and the Federation of Clubs (Peñas), aims to establish itself in the city's festive calendar. The Councilor for Festivals, Antonio Torres, highlighted the importance of reviving this tradition that "used to be held for many years" and had been lost.
Torres stated that since its revival, the fair has seen a "positive evolution" in both attendance and programming, with an "impetus" noticeable each year. The event will take place in the surroundings of the Sanctuary, providing a unique setting for the evening.
The musical lineup will feature performances by the Pilar Algaba Dance Academy with its show ‘Palmas y Tacones’, as well as contributions from Noelia Cazalla and Selu. The Councilor for Festivals described the event as "very fun, very relaxed, and very family-oriented."
The organization involves the collaboration of the Federation of Clubs and the Neighborhood Association of the Sanctuary Village. Paqui Tortejada, treasurer of the Federation of Clubs, emphasized the growing public response and the "privileged views" of the Sanctuary from the Arco area.
During the fair, the Federation of Clubs will organize a raffle with prizes donated by approximately 30 sponsors. The proceeds from ticket sales will be donated this year to Cáritas Interparroquial. The day will begin with a communal mass in the temple.
