At 74 years old, Ana Reverte has given one of her few recent interviews, revealing that, although she has recorded new songs, she has no plans to release a new album. Known as the 'Queen of Colombianas', her musical career spanned over thirty albums, and her gold and platinum records, including the one obtained after winning the OTI Festival in 1993 with the song Enamorarse, composed by Alejandro Abad and Joseph Llobell, are displayed in her tourist complex.
The artist has fully integrated into the life of Los Corrales, a village of 4,000 inhabitants located 109 kilometers from Seville capital. More than three decades ago, Reverte began acquiring land on a hill to build her complex, which includes a riding arena and prefabricated homes. The latter have mainly attracted British citizens seeking the tranquility of the Spanish countryside in their maturity, surrounded by a landscape dominated by olive trees.
“"I stayed to help my home, my parents and my siblings."
Ana Reverte recalls her youth, when, before turning 18, she emigrated to Barcelona to support her family. In Catalonia, where she lived for 20 years, she started a new life, and her musical career took off after an impromptu performance at the Casa de Andalucía de Terrassa. This period, although dizzying, was fundamental for her personal and professional development.
In addition to music, painting has been a constant in Ana Reverte's life, having created over 400 works. This artistic facet was crucial for her recovery after an illness, providing her with a means of expression and motivation. Although music consumed much of her time in the past, painting has always been a passion.
“"Happy, with some leaks."
Approaching her 75th birthday, Ana Reverte describes herself as a mature, calm, and serene woman, much more so than during her years of intense musical activity. Her intention is to remain in Los Corrales, the place where she has found the peace she sought, far from the hustle and bustle of being a full-time singer.
