The province of Almería experienced extreme temperatures this Wednesday, with several municipalities exceeding 43 degrees Celsius. According to the Association of Meteorology of the Southeast (Ametse), the station located at the Aguas river in Turre marked 43.2 ºC, while the one at the town hall recorded 42.7 ºC.
Other towns in the Valle del Almanzora and Levante regions of Almería also suffered torrid heat: Macael (42.8 ºC), Garrucha (42.3 ºC), Fines (42.1 ºC), Bédar (41.8 ºC), Uleila del Campo (41.7 ºC), and Jauro (Antas) (41.5 ºC), among others.
Official data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) places Albox as the locality with the highest temperature in all of Andalusia, reaching 40.8 ºC at 13:40. It is followed by Huércal-Overa with 40.0 ºC at 16:30, and Abla with 39.4 ºC at 15:20.
The meteorological situation will change this Thursday with the arrival of storms from the north of the province. Aemet maintains a yellow alert for storms, hail, and strong wind gusts in the Valle del Almanzora and Los Vélez regions, especially in mountainous areas.
