A spokesperson for the Popular Party announced in Rota that the contract for the duplication works of the A-491 will be awarded within a month, allowing construction to commence this summer. This initiative addresses a long-standing demand from the municipality, involving an investment of approximately 43 million euros.
The road, which handles a daily traffic volume of 16,000 vehicles, 5% of which are heavy vehicles, will see improved capacity and safety. The project includes pavement homogenization and enhanced access to key locations such as the cemetery and the Bercial area, thus meeting the needs of local residents.
“"This is a very important and impactful piece of news for one of the municipality's main arteries."
In addition to the road infrastructure, progress on Rota's new health center has been confirmed. A credit of 9.9 million euros has been approved for this facility, which will double the current center's area to 3,800 square meters.
The new center will feature 15 consultation rooms, 7 pediatric rooms, and two primary care emergency rooms, and will incorporate a mental health unit. The construction process is expected to accelerate following the topographical survey, with the goal of the center becoming operational by 2027.
“"Therefore, today I can say that the new health center is definitively starting and accelerating, and in 2027 it will begin to be a new reality."
