The municipal delegate for Senior Citizen Care, Alicia López, presented the initiative, designed by the Sociocultural Workshops team. The goal is to encourage social participation, promote healthy lifestyle habits, and enhance physical and mental well-being, while also keeping seniors active, accompanied, and preventing unwanted loneliness.
The program will begin with a radio segment giving voice to the most veteran participants of the sociocultural workshops. Following this, on October 21st, a low-level hiking route will take place along the coastal path between La Cala de Mijas and Cabopino. On October 26th, the Senior Center will host an activity combining fitness and flamenco to work on coordination.
Activities will continue on November 6th with a healthy walk through Ronda, including a scavenger hunt. Finally, on November 12th, a cultural excursion to the Enchanted Forest of Parauta will be held, also featuring a hiking route.
All activities are free of charge, with limited places available. Interested individuals can obtain more information and register at the Centro Cultural Nuestro Padre Jesús, located at Calle María Cabrera, during morning hours (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM).
Alicia López encouraged participation and extended her congratulations to the group, emphasizing the City Council's commitment to active, healthy, and accompanied aging.
