The Junta de Andalucía has decided not to authorize any event involving the use of pyrotechnic material to prevent fires during a high-risk period. In line with this directive, the City Council of Ronda has announced it will implement this ban.
The festival delegation of the Ronda council is currently evaluating alternatives to the traditional fireworks that usually mark the start of the Pedro Romero Fair and Festivals. These events, which traditionally follow the parade and the lighting of the ‘Ángel Harillo’ fairground, will be modified this year.
The main priority is to prevent any situation that could trigger a fire, endangering people and the natural environment. This measure is being adopted given the current circumstances, characterized by abundant dry vegetation due to the heavy rains last winter and the extreme dryness caused by the continuous heatwaves affecting Spain this summer, as informed by the Andalusian Government delegation in Málaga to the Ronda Council.
