Since early Saturday afternoon, both operational teams have worked jointly to extinguish the flames in the Dehesa del Mercadillo Peri-urban Park, located in the Malaga municipality of Ronda. According to Infoca, the fire was brought under control around 4:15 PM, shortly after it broke out at approximately 4:00 PM.
The efforts of the deployed personnel are now focused on the complete extinction of the fire and on preventing any potential resurgence. The forest fire mobilized Infoca's forest firefighters, who required the collaboration of a unit from Ronda's CPB.
The province of Malaga continues to experience a heatwave, with maximum temperatures remaining around 35 degrees Celsius in Ronda throughout the weekend.
In parallel, during the early morning hours, another CPB unit, this time from Coín, responded to a house fire in Cártama, on Calle Manuel Vallejo in the Puerto Terrón urbanization. The alert was received around 1:30 AM, and the extinguishing efforts lasted until approximately 3:00 AM. Fortunately, the fire caused only material damage, affecting the exterior terrace and part of the semi-basement interior of the two-story house.
