Following the celebration of the tenth edition of 'El Gran Juego del Peregrino' last August, the Villanueva del Duque City Council has announced the approval of the Collaboration Agreement with the Most Excellent Provincial Council of Córdoba. This agreement aims to finance the project, which encompasses cultural, sports, and social revitalization aspects.
Through a Decree from the Delegation of Sports and Civil Protection, dated September 14, 2026, the local entity was granted a specific subsidy. This aid is intended to cover the operational costs derived from the activities that took place on August 4, 7, and 8.
The initiative is supported financially by the Provincial Council of Córdoba, which has provided a subsidy of €3,000. This amount is in addition to the contribution from the Villanueva del Duque City Council itself, thus ensuring the project's viability and quality of execution.
This project promotes healthy leisure alternatives among youth, strengthens associative fabric, and fosters economic activity in local establishments. Furthermore, it aligns with the 2030 Agenda, supporting SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth through sustainable tourism), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
