This initiative, which has already seen several actions implemented, gains particular relevance given the significant increase in energy prices recently. The local administration seeks to optimize consumption and modernize the municipality's energy infrastructure.
“"Photovoltaic panels have already been installed at the Guadalinfo center, the multi-purpose building on Corchuelos street, the Alto Genal rural public school, and the Valle del Genal nursing home."
Currently, a new phase is underway, involving the placement of solar panels on the roof of the municipal swimming pool restaurant, as well as on the warehouse and pergola located within the school premises. These works have a budget of 25,000 euros.
With these measures, the Faraján Town Council expects to reduce municipal energy expenditure by almost half. This strategy of sustainability and modernization began with the 100% renovation of public lighting, replacing about 120 mercury vapor lamps with LED lighting systems, which already generated savings on electricity bills.
The council pursues a dual objective: to continue improving facilities and to considerably decrease municipal energy costs. Furthermore, by committing to energy efficiency, Faraján actively contributes to minimizing pollution and becoming a more sustainable and environmentally friendly municipality.
