The initiative, part of the municipal program ‘Fuengirola en Forma’, aims to promote healthy habits while fostering solidarity in the city. All proceeds from registrations, priced at 10 euros, will be donated to the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients Fuengirola-Mijas (AFA).
The Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, presented the event, emphasizing its charitable nature and its established place in the local sports calendar. The activity will feature around a hundred bicycles and will be led by specialized instructors from the Coliseo gym, which will also provide the necessary equipment and professionals.
Interested participants can register for 10 euros at the Coliseo gym or the Department of Sports. The entire amount raised will be given to AFA to support their care and support work for individuals affected by Alzheimer's and their families.
“"We are very grateful to the Fuengirola City Council for dedicating the proceeds of this activity to our association, precisely in the month when we celebrate World Alzheimer's Day."
Paqui Lebrón, president of AFA Fuengirola-Mijas, thanked the City Council for choosing the organization as the beneficiary. She explained that those who wish to contribute but cannot or do not want to participate in the marathon can do so through a 'fila cero' (zero line), and that AFA will set up collection points at the event venue to receive donations and provide information about their work.
The Fuengirola City Council thus combines sport, healthy habits, and solidarity in an activity open to citizen participation, which will take place in one of the city's most emblematic locations.
