After a year's wait, the II Cxm La Calzada now has a confirmed date. On Sunday, November 15, athletes will face this sporting challenge offering a unique experience through the mountains, history, and natural identity of the municipality of Vícar. The competition, which last year gathered 400 participants, anticipates similar success for this 2026 edition.
Starting and finishing at the Vícar Sports Palace (Las Cabañuelas) at 09:30h, competitors can choose from three categories: trail (24.5 km / +1100m), mini trail (15 km / +640m), and hiking (18 km / +650m). All routes will traverse paths, trails, and ravines of the Sierra de Gádor, passing through areas like La Envía Golf, La Espartera, and the Villa de Vícar. A highlight will be the descent along the emblematic Roman Road, offering views of the Vícar Pueblo valley, the sea of plastic greenhouses, and the Mediterranean Sea.
The minimum age for participation is 21 years for the trail and 15 years for the mini trail and hiking.
Registrations are open until November 10, 2026 (or until places are filled) on the website Cruzando la Meta. The fee is €25 for the trail and €15 for the mini trail and hiking, which includes accident insurance, a runner's bag, aid stations, post-race food and drink, and a finisher's gift. A 'Companion Menu' with rice and a drink is also available for €5.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three overall finishers (male and female) in the trail and mini trail categories, as well as the top three in each specific category and subcategory. Prizes will also be given to the three best local runners registered in Vícar and to the club with the most participants crossing the finish line.
The Vícar City Council encourages participation in this significant event, acknowledging the collaboration of athletes, volunteers, and sponsors.
