The march, which will start and finish at calle Virgen de la Cabeza, is open to participants of all ages under the slogan "Without you it won't be the same." The main objective is to offer support to individuals undergoing the illness, accompany those who have lost a loved one to it, and raise awareness about the importance of prevention, sensitization, and research.
Mayor Julio Millán called on citizens to "take to the streets this Sunday to accompany the association and, above all, these women affected by breast cancer, so they see they are not alone." He emphasized the need for the healthcare system to provide a swift and comprehensive response.
Beatriz López highlighted that the march has become a "symbol and emblem of a cause" thanks to the work of AJICAM. She added that it "makes more sense than ever" and criticized "screening failures by the Administration," stating that the responsibility of demanding answers cannot fall on those who should be receiving protection.
Gema Liébana echoed the call for public and quality healthcare, demanding the elimination of waiting lists for treatments and diagnostic tests. She stressed the importance of promoting early diagnosis, as "an effective screening program saves lives."
The organization reminds participants that registration is not required. Citizens are encouraged to join by purchasing the commemorative pink t-shirt for six euros, or the special edition for ten euros, with proceeds going to research. T-shirts can be bought at the Ajicam headquarters (San Antonio street, number 4) from Monday to Thursday (10:30 AM - 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM) and on the day of the event.
Following the march, activities will take place in Plaza Empresario Diego Torres, including the reading of a manifesto and the traditional balloon release. Ajicam will also sell merchandise to raise funds.
The march route is as follows: start at calle Virgen de la Cabeza, Plaza de los perfumes, Avenida Andalucía, Avenida de Arjona, Avenida de Barcelona, Calle Goya, calle Eduardo García Maroto, Plaza de los Perfumes, and finish at Virgen de la Cabeza.
