A total of one hundred people have boosted their professional careers in Vícar thanks to a series of specific training courses provided by ASAJA Almería within the framework of the ERACIS+ program. The initiative concluded with a free course on Packaging Horticultural Products in Warehousing, held at the Casa de la Juventud y el Deporte (House of Youth and Sport).
This training program covered various specializations throughout 2026, including Forklift Operator, Grafting in Horticultural Crops, Pesticide Applicator (Basic Level), and Food Handler and Packaging of Horticultural Products. The offering, coordinated between ASAJA Almería and the technical team of ERACIS+ Vícar, aimed to enhance local employability by meeting the demands of the agricultural sector and its auxiliary industries in Poniente Almeriense.
The Vícar City Council has provided municipal spaces for the development of these training sessions. At the closing ceremony, Francisco Rodríguez, Councilor for Agriculture, highlighted the direct boost these initiatives provide for employment in the region and reaffirmed the council's commitment to creating new job opportunities.
The technical team of ERACIS+ Vícar emphasized the success of the call for participation and the strength of the institutional collaboration as key to generating opportunities in the Vícar area. This action is part of the Local Social Inclusion Plan of the City Council, co-financed by the European Union and the Junta de Andalucía.
