Over a hundred agents and commanders from local police forces across Andalusia, along with road safety delegate prosecutors from the eight Andalusian provinces and the two autonomous cities, are participating in these sessions held at the Envía Golf&Spa Hotel. The event also includes representatives from the Guardia Civil, Emergencies of Andalusia 112, Civil Protection, and Firefighters.
The Mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, highlighted the importance of such meetings for "sharing experiences, unifying criteria, and refining joint action protocols." He emphasized the significance of "working to minimize harm, expedite rescues, and provide comprehensive technical and human care to victims and their families."
For her part, Ana María Tárrago, Chief Prosecutor of Andalusia, stressed the "importance of training and coordination" for "correct police action and that of all involved," noting that "these sessions have the victim as their main focus."
The presentations cover topics such as unified digital accident reports, immediate victim care best practices, the use of personal cameras as evidence, and regulations on personal mobility devices. The congress will resume tomorrow with more presentations and a practical exercise for primary school students at the Amphitheater Square of La Gangosa.
The hosting of this congress in Vícar recognizes the municipality's long-standing role as a pioneer in promoting road safety culture, including the establishment of its Road Safety Education program in 2006 and the accreditation of its center in 2011. Vícar has received accolades such as the award from the Federation of Andalusian Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP) in 2024 and the prize from ATESVAN in 2019 for its work in Road Safety Education.
