The real estate market in the province of Almería has begun 2026 with remarkable dynamism, positioning Roquetas de Mar and the capital among the most sought-after municipalities for home purchases in Spain.

According to the latest data from Idealista, Roquetas de Mar has established itself as one of the most attractive destinations nationwide. This municipality stands out not only for its high relative demand but also for offering more affordable prices compared to other places in the ranking, with an average cost below 180,000 euros.
Interest in the area has driven a year-on-year price increase of 20% during last March. Districts such as Aguadulce have reached historic highs, with values close to €2,000/m², underscoring the record interest in the Poniente almeriense region.
The capital of Almería is also experiencing a favorable period, climbing to 17th place in the national demand ranking. With an average price of 187,471 euros, the city is positioned as the third Andalusian capital with the highest buyer pressure, surpassing cities like Málaga or Granada in relative interest. This momentum extends to the Levante region, where municipalities such as Vera remain in the national “top 100,” and El Ejido and Huércal de Almería gain traction thanks to prices that, although rising, offer profitability and accessibility difficult to find in other coastal areas of Andalusia.
Nationally, the Idealista report reveals a widespread increase in competition for home purchases in almost all capitals. Madrid, Zaragoza, and Valencia lead the pressure on supply, with average prices in the Spanish capital exceeding 608,000 euros. The current trend shows that buyers prioritize markets with more competitive prices, as demonstrated by L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Valladolid, which have surpassed large markets like Barcelona and Vitoria.
By province, Alicante tops the list with the highest number of high-demand municipalities, followed by Barcelona and Murcia. In the south, in addition to Almería's prominence, the emergence of Seville in 9th place and the good performance of Cadiz localities such as Jerez de la Frontera or Chiclana stand out. The Spanish market seems to favor the “periphery” and medium-sized cities that, as in the Almerian case, manage to maintain an attractive and viable offer for the average budget without sacrificing coastal quality of life.
