This initiative, a result of the collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the involved city councils, aims not only to bring performing arts closer to citizens but also to foster new audiences and strengthen the professional sector. A significant portion of the program, specifically eight performances, is dedicated to school audiences through the Abecedaria cycle.
The Abecedaria cycle will kick off on April 13 in Carboneras with 'Empaque' by Chicharrón Circo Flamenco, a blend of circus and flamenco. The following day, April 14, El Ejido will present 'Raíz Sureste', also by Chicharrón Circo Flamenco, with two morning performances. On the same day, Adra will host 'Yee-Haw!', a contemporary circus show with humor and live music by La Banda de Otro. The school circuit will continue on April 20 in Carboneras with 'Calle del Rebaño 14' by Títeres Caracartón, and on April 23 in Pulpí with 'turismointerior (teatrointerior)' by David Montero / La Suite, offering two showings.
For the general public, the cultural offerings will begin on April 10 in Pulpí with the concert 'Minha Lua' by Cabo Verde Jazz Brasil. On April 11, Adra will be the stage for a concert by Trinidad Jiménez, while Carboneras will host 'Debajo del tejado' by Pata Teatro. On April 17, Pulpí will again be a protagonist with 'Divinas palabras' by Atalaya, a prominent company in Andalusian theater. Finally, on April 18, Carboneras will present 'Ikun, la princesa del agua' by Petit Teatro, a family-oriented show.
The performance schedule will continue on April 25 with two simultaneous proposals: 'Un trocito de luna' by A la Sombrita in Carboneras, and 'Far West' by Producciones Yllana in Vícar. The cycle will conclude on April 29 in El Ejido with the contemporary dance piece 'La ceremonia de la despedida', by SilencioDanza + Raúl Durán Cía. de Danza.
