The verdict of the LXI National Painting Contest "Villa de Ubrique" took place today at the Exhibition Hall of the Old Market of Abastos. The first prize, comprising 5,000 € and a plaque, was awarded to Jerez-based painter Víctor González for his work titled "Cuadro expansivo".
Additionally, honorable mentions were given to painters Sergio Rocafort, from Valencia, for "Deshacer las cinco eses II"; Silvia Benítez, from San Fernando, for "Romería"; and Emilio Nieto, from Seville, for "Última forma".
The jury, composed of Eva Morales Núñez, José Carlos Naranjo Bernal, Eduardo Jesús Millán Sañudo, and María Sánchez Agustino, was present during the deliberation. The Councilor for Culture, Patricia Caro Carrasco, also attended the event.
The exhibition featuring the selected artworks will be open to the public throughout the month of October. Visiting hours are Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 09:30 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00, and it remains closed on Mondays and Sundays.
