The Vícar City Council once again joins the celebration of World Mental Health Day, observed on October 10th, aiming to raise awareness about the diverse realities and challenges faced by millions worldwide. The Department of Health and Social Services has organized a march and a day of community gathering for this Friday, the 9th.
During the municipal plenary session on September 30th, a joint institutional declaration was unanimously approved. Mayor Antonio Bonilla expressed in it "the solidarity of this entire Governing Team with those who suffer from any type of mental health problem or disorder, as well as with their families."
Under the slogan ‘Vícar Marches for Mental Health’, the initiative invites all citizens of Vícar, along with associations and clubs, to participate. The ERACIS+ Vícar working team will also be present, alongside collaborating entities such as Codenaf, Engloba, Humanitarios Sin Fronteras, Innova Almería, Inserta Andalucía, and Protegidas.
The event will feature two coordinated departures: the first at 09:00 AM from the Pabellón José Cano (La Gangosa) and the second at 09:15 AM from the esplanade next to the administrative building of the City Council in La Puebla. Both groups will converge at the Bulevar Ciudad de Vícar, in front of the Rotonda del 2005 (Las Cabañuelas), where the rest of the activities will take place.
The program includes a healthy breakfast at the end of the march, the reading of a manifesto, and a zumba gold class. Additionally, an information stand will be set up throughout the day to provide advice and support the awareness efforts.
The Vícar City Council encourages citizens to participate in the event, emphasizing the importance of working towards a supportive system for those in need.
