The presence of a political leader's campaign advertisement at the Expiración brotherhood in Malaga has drawn public attention. The poster, displaying the politician's image and their party's logo, is located on a billboard adjacent to the church, near the former Correos headquarters.
The political party has defended the action, arguing that it is “just another advertising space,” where various products and brands have been advertised previously. They clarified that, as it is a regional campaign, the space was contracted by the party's regional section.
For its part, the brotherhood explained that it has a contract with an external company responsible for managing advertising in that location. A spokesperson for the entity emphasized that there is “no direct communication” between the brotherhood and the advertisers, and that the only condition imposed is that the advertising content respects “the ethical and moral values promoted by the brotherhood” and does not violate its Catholic identity.
Sources close to the brotherhood have indicated that the advertisement will remain in place until May 15, the last day of the electoral campaign. They added that the managing company is responsible for finding advertisers, meaning any other political party or advertiser could have occupied that space.
