The incident occurred around 6:45 PM when Local Police received an alert about a VTC driver engaging in dangerous maneuvers on Avenida de Velázquez and failing to stop. After initiating a search, officers located the vehicle crashed against a traffic light on Avenida de Molière.
Upon approaching the car, officers observed the driver smoking a pipe, apparently containing drugs, while holding a knife. After being asked to exit the vehicle, the individual, according to municipal sources, lunged at the officers and threatened to harm himself with the blade, prompting the police to draw their weapons before he eventually surrendered.

Once detained, the man was taken to a medical center, where he allegedly threatened healthcare staff. He was subsequently transferred to the facilities of the Accident Investigation and Traffic Report Group (GIAA), where his positive test for alcohol and drugs was confirmed. The same sources indicated that the detainee has prior offenses, including some for assaulting law enforcement officers.
