Following the conclusion of Easter Week, which drew thousands of residents and visitors to the municipality's streets, the Vélez-Málaga City Council has initiated an intensive cleaning plan. Throughout the festive period, operational services worked continuously, adapting to the large crowds and the various processions, to ensure the good condition of public roads.
Starting today, the council has stepped up these efforts with a specific campaign for the removal of wax accumulated on the pavement. Specialized techniques, including hot pressurized water and stripping machinery, are being used to effectively and safely eliminate the residue.
“"The enormous effort and dedication of the cleaning teams, who have been working tirelessly before, during, and after Easter Week to ensure our streets look their best."
The mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Jesús Lupiáñez (PP), praised the work of the cleaning teams, highlighting the prior planning and coordination of municipal services in response to a week of intense activity. Additionally, the City Council has issued a warning to citizens, requesting caution in the coming days, as cleaned areas may be slippery. Pedestrians and drivers are advised to exercise extreme care while these tasks are carried out, which will continue until all wax is removed from the processional routes.
