Since last June 15, when the special surveillance operation began and will continue until September 30, officers have recorded a total of 241 infractions in the municipality's beach areas. Of these, 116 focus on the illegal sale of food products such as cakes, soft drinks, and fruits, as well as alcoholic beverages.
Another 65 fines relate to the sale of textile products and various goods. The Local Police have warned about the health risks associated with consuming drinks and food sold without sanitary control, mentioning cases of unauthorized mojitos and the rental of umbrellas without permits.
Beach camping is also a focus of police action, with 14 fines issued in areas like La Malagueta and El Peñón del Cuervo. Additionally, seven fines have been issued for the presence of animals on the beaches.
Under the Citizen Coexistence ordinance, 59 fines have been issued, notably 17 for persistently or intimidatingly offering goods or services, including massages by unqualified individuals.
In terms of security, a bladed weapon was seized, and 36 reports were filed for the consumption or possession of drugs.
The surveillance operation, covering areas from Churriana to El Peñón del Cuervo, includes uniformed and plainclothes units, drones, quads, and a buggy. Police presence is also maintained at night to prevent encampments on the promenades.
