Nine cruise ships are scheduled to dock at the port of Malaga throughout the Fair week, coinciding with arrivals by air and land. The City Council reported that the combined capacity of these vessels will allow for the movement of approximately 20,000 passengers.
The busiest day for cruise traffic will be Friday, August 21, the second to last day of the Fair, when four ships are expected to arrive simultaneously. These arrivals will bring 9,591 people, nearly half of the total expected. Notably, the Arvia ship, from P&O Cruises, measuring 344 meters in length and accommodating 6,264 cruise passengers, will be the largest vessel to dock in the city.
Other cruise ships visiting Malaga during the Fair include the Sky Princess, with a capacity for 3,660 tourists, the Crystal Serenity (840 passengers), the Seven Seas Splendor (754 passengers), the Seven Seas Navigator (530 cruise passengers), the Ambience (2,043 travelers), and the AIDAstella (2,194 cruise passengers).
The Malaga Fair continues to be a key event, boosting hotel occupancy. The Association of Hoteliers of the Costa del Sol (Aehcos) forecasts an average occupancy of 88.4% for the week, with a peak of 95% during the final weekend. A gross impact of 128.37 euros per guest is expected, an increase compared to the previous year.
