The contracting board has selected Esteyco, also responsible for the preliminary project, to draft the construction project for a budget of 1,446,651.23 euros and a deadline of 11 months. This initiative, co-financed 50% by the Junta de Andalucía, aims to minimize flood risk and transform the river into a green corridor.
The intervention will focus on hydraulic adaptation, transversal connectivity, and renaturalization of the stretch between the Armiñán Bridge and the El Perchel pedestrian walkway. The project will ensure safety against floods and harmonize hydraulic functionality with urban integration requirements, following guidelines from the General Directorate of Water Resources of the Junta de Andalucía.
The plan includes the creation of five bridge-plazas to connect both banks and the study of future boulevard designs, although it does not encompass the tunneling of urban traffic. A study on traffic impact during construction will be conducted.
Furthermore, a citizen participation plan will be developed to encourage community involvement in the design and use of the infrastructure, employing various tools such as workshops and surveys.
