The possibility of collectively watching Málaga CF's play-off promotion matches has been thwarted by LaLiga's repeated prohibition on installing giant screens in cities that had requested them. This measure impacts the fanbase eager to gather and support the team in its bid to return to the First Division.
The governing body of professional football in Spain has responded to requests from various city councils, such as that of A Coruña, explaining that "LaLiga cannot authorize the projection or public communication of the match in spaces open to the public, fan zones, screens installed on public roads, temporarily enabled venues, or similar formats." The institution bases its decision on Royal Decree-Law 5/2015, which grants it exclusive powers over the exploitation and commercialization of League audiovisual rights.

In light of this situation, the platform Con Málaga has urged the mayor of Málaga, De la Torre, to lead a joint initiative with other cities such as Castellón, Las Palmas, and Almería to demand the installation of these screens during the play-offs. It is recalled that in 2024, it was possible, gathering 12,000 people at the Cortijo de Torres Auditorium to celebrate promotion to the Second Division. "We know that the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, is preventing city councils from setting up giant screens, citing a significant business linked to audiovisual rights," stated Nico Sguiglia.
