Profiles on platforms such as Vinted and Wallapop have put tickets for the first leg of the promotion final up for sale, with prices ranging from 75 to 200 euros. This practice, considered illegal, has been warned against by both clubs, who have announced their intention to take legal action against those involved.
The ticket resale business is difficult to eradicate, as it is often conducted through fake online profiles to arrange in-person meetings. Despite the warnings, the high demand and desperation to secure a ticket for such a crucial match encourage some to profit illegally.
“"If we detect any type of illegal ticket purchase and sale process, it will be punished with the cancellation of the ticket, permanent revocation of the season ticket, and reporting to the competent authorities."
Málaga has announced that, if resale is detected, they will proceed with the immediate cancellation of the ticket, permanent revocation of the season ticket, and reporting to the authorities. Similar measures will be implemented by Almería, which will also permanently ban involved season ticket holders and cancel the resold tickets.
This practice is not exclusive to football and has sometimes resulted in scams, where sellers disappear with the money without delivering tickets. The resale of tickets in a person's name is illegal, but some profiles exploit the situation for profit.
