After years as the PSOE spokesperson in the Málaga City Council, Dani Pérez delivered his final address to the municipal plenary. His speech focused on the issues affecting the city's neighborhoods, the challenges of accessing housing, and a defense of politics based on disagreement and respect, acknowledging the work of his political adversary, Mayor Francisco de la Torre.
Pérez, originally from the Miraflores neighborhood, expressed concern about a 'Málaga that has become more expensive,' describing it as a 'form of silent expulsion.' He stated that his move to the Andalusian Parliament is not perceived as a promotion but as an opportunity to defend Málaga's interests from Seville, asserting: 'Every time someone says Málaga needs something, wants something, or deserves something, I will be there.'
“"I have faced Paco de la Torre twice, a person who has governed this city for 26 years. Through disagreement, he has taught me what conviction means. We have fought hard, and at the same time, we have called each other friends. Paco, this City Council has been better for having you, and I am better for having you as an opponent."
Visibly moved, Pérez extended his thanks to municipal workers, his political group, and his closest circle, including his partner, Nuria, and his daughters Carmen, Julia, and Daniela. He concluded his speech with a 'Thank you, Málaga, and see you soon,' receiving a standing ovation from the entire municipal corporation.
