The Regional Government of Andalusia projects hosting around 14.2 million tourists between July and September, anticipating a 2.6% increase compared to the previous year.

Malaga is positioned as one of the main drivers of summer tourism in Andalusia, with a projected growth of 3.5% in hotel overnight stays from July to September. The province's airport will play a key role, offering approximately five million seats, an increase of 7.6%.
According to the expectations of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Malaga ranks as the second province with the highest anticipated increase in overnight stays, with all provinces showing positive rates. Seville leads this rise with a projected 7.4% increase, followed by Malaga with 3.3% and Granada with 3.3%.
In total, Andalusia is expected to welcome around 14.2 million tourists during the summer, a 2.6% increase from last year. This growth translates into greater intensity in employment and revenue generated within the sector, according to the forecast report from the Ministry of Tourism and Andalusia Exterior.
The Andalusian tourism industry anticipates reaching approximately 550,000 employees during these months, representing an increase of 5% to 7% compared to the summer of 2025. Traveler spending is estimated to generate a nominal revenue increase of 3.6%.
The acting president of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, highlighted the positive impact of these forecasts on the regional economy, calling Andalusia a preferred destination for both domestic and international tourism. He emphasized that the growth in revenue and employment will surpass the number of tourists, consolidating a model of quality tourism.
Andalusia reaffirms its position as the primary destination for domestic visitors, with a forecast of 9.7 million tourists (a 1.7% increase). The rise is more significant for international tourism, with 4.5 million visitors (a 4.5% increase).
Hotel establishments are projected to reach 21.2 million overnight stays, a 3% increase. September continues to gain importance, with a 3.1% rise in stays. International travelers are expected to account for 10.8 million overnight stays (a 5.6% increase), while domestic tourists will contribute 10.4 million (a 0.4% increase).
The hotel occupancy rate is expected to reach 68%, 1.4 points higher than the previous year, with a peak of 73.37% in August. Airports in the region will receive 38,500 flights between July and September, a 7.7% increase, with a capacity of 6.9 million seats (+8.6%).
Malaga Airport stands out with around five million seats (+7.6%), followed by Seville with 1.5 million (+11.2%). Almeria and Jerez airports show the largest increases in air capacity, with 18.2% and 15.9% respectively.
