Since its opening in 1996, this venue has evolved to offer a comprehensive experience. What began as a traditional bookshop has transformed into a meeting point where the scent of books blends with that of freshly baked goods, aiming to counteract declining sales in the literary sector.
The business, located on Jorge Luis Borges Avenue, presents itself as a haven for those wishing to enjoy breakfast, an afternoon snack, or a quiet moment surrounded by a vast literary collection. The space's philosophy is to foster encounter, discussion, and knowledge.
With over 250,000 bibliographic references and an extensive e-book catalog, the establishment prides itself on its staff, described as "addicted to the world of books." Its goal is to provide each customer with a personal place to enjoy reading, coffee, and conversation.
The gastronomic offer is varied, including the "Q Pro Quo Adicto" menu for 8.95 euros, which consists of a mollete, coffee or tea, orange juice, and yogurt with muesli. Additionally, special breakfasts are available from 4.50 euros, such as the 'Summercat' with mollete, sobrasada, melted cheese, walnuts, and honey, or the 'Santispascuis' with avocado and braised turkey.
Toasts are also offered from 5.50 euros, with options like 'El capricho de Ale' with crushed tomato, Manchego cheese, and anchovies, or 'Evelyn Hugo' with goat cheese, caramelized onion, dates, and gratinated walnuts. The menu is completed with sandwiches from 2.30 euros, bagels, croissants, fruit or yogurt bowls, crepes and waffles from 4.95 euros, as well as a selection of coffees, teas, and smoothies.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
