The event featured venencia categories for toddlers, children, juniors, and seniors, along with an open age volteo category. Judges assessed style, height and cut, cleanliness of work, and venencia handling, with a maximum score of 40 points.
In the toddler category, Mario Jiménez and Daniel Jiménez were recognized. For the children's category, Victoria Jurado, Claudia Carmona, Sergio Pérez, and Ana Jiménez received accolades, honoring the four participants demonstrating the most skill with the venencia.
In the junior category, Pablo Cayetano Ojeda secured first prize (70 euros), followed by Laura Córdoba (50 euros) and Dani Ruz (30 euros). In the senior category, Tania Priego won first prize (150 euros), Inmaculada Carmona took second (100 euros), and Carmen M.ª Gómez received third (50 euros). For volteo, Tania Priego also claimed first place (70 euros), with Dani Ruz in second (50 euros) and Carmen M.ª Gómez in third (30 euros).
The Association Friends of the Venencia, led by venenciadora Aurora Luque, contributed the majority of the contestants, confirming their significant efforts in passing down the techniques, knowledge, and values associated with the venencia profession to new generations.
The Montilla City Council expressed gratitude for the participation of all individuals involved in the competition, particularly the young people and adults whose presence is crucial for ensuring the continuity of a trade and tradition that forms part of the cultural heritage linked to Montilla's wine.
The event also featured a flamenco performance by Patricio Córdoba and Carmen Córdoba, whose music accompanied the closing of another edition of the Wine and Tapas Festival.
Through this activity, the municipality once again focused on the transmission of winemaking traditions and the role of associations and individuals who keep this knowledge alive, fostering the continuation of venencia and volteo from generation to generation.
