The devotion to María Auxiliadora, celebrated annually coinciding with Pentecost, will be manifested in Sevilla with processions particularly rooted in the neighborhoods of Triana and Nervión. Both areas will host processional departures this Sunday, which will continue until the early morning.
In the Triana neighborhood, the Salesian parish will bring two floats to the street: the images of San Juan Bosco and María Auxiliadora, popularly known as the ‘Sentaíta’. The procession is scheduled to begin its route at 6:00 PM from Condes de Bustillo street, passing through emblematic streets such as San Jacinto, Pureza, and Pagés del Corro, with its return to the parish expected at 12:00 AM.
The floats will be under the direction of the general foreman Fernando Blanco. Musical accompaniment will be provided by two groups: the Musical Group «Ntro. Padre Jesús Nazareno de la Fuensanta» from Morón de la Frontera, which will follow the San Juan Bosco float, and the Music Band «Fernando Guerrero» from Los Palacios y Villafranca, which will accompany the Virgin.
Meanwhile, in the Nervión neighborhood, the processional departure will begin from the church of María Auxiliadora at 7:00 PM. The planned route includes streets such as Espinosa y Cárcel, Santa María Mazzarello, Villegas y Marmolejo, plaza Antonio Aparicio Herrero, San Juan de Dios, Hospital de San Juan de Dios, avenida Eduardo Dato, Marqués del Nervión, Cristo de la Sed, avenida de la Cruz del Campo, Gran Plaza, Beatriz de Suabia, Juan de Juanes, and Ceán Bermúdez, with an estimated return at 12:00 AM.
The celebrations will not conclude this weekend. Next Saturday, May 30th, the processional departure of the images of María Auxiliadora from San Lorenzo and María Auxiliadora Coronada from La Trinidad is scheduled, thus completing the festive cycle that the city dedicates to this Marian invocation.
