The municipality of Chiclana will receive 18,840,526 euros from the Spanish Government to address the damage caused by the recent storm train. This significant financial injection, notified through the Secretariat of State for Territorial Policy, will enable essential recovery actions for the city.
The works will focus on the repair of roads, improvement of the rainwater drainage system, as well as interventions in environmental matters and the remediation of damage to municipal buildings. The mayor, José María Román, highlighted the importance of the aid, calling it "an amount that is not easily granted," and stressed the urgency of action.
Technical project drafts for the subsequent public tender of the works are currently underway. Although the deadline for executing these actions is three years, the city council is working to "act as soon as possible" to resolve the numerous problems that arose after the storms.
Román also congratulated the municipal delegate for Urban Maintenance and Energy, Mª Ángeles Martínez Rico, and her team, acknowledging their fundamental role in managing documentation and finding solutions amidst the criticisms received during the process.
