One of the new devices has been placed in a Local Police patrol vehicle, serving as a mobile intervention unit, while the second has been installed at the Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno Residence.
The mayor of Pozoblanco, Santiago Cabello, highlighted that the incorporation of this equipment demonstrates a "firm commitment to the health, prevention, and safety of our residents," noting that the number of defibrillators in the town has doubled in the last three years.
Cabello emphasized that "every defibrillator added to the municipal network can make a difference in a critical moment," and that this expansion "is not just a matter of numbers, but of sensitivity and responsibility."
For his part, the Health Councillor, Miguel Ruiz, explained that AEDs are "easy-to-use devices, but enormously important in the first minutes of cardiac arrest," and that having a wide network "allows us to save time, and in this type of emergency, time is absolutely crucial."
With this expansion, the Pozoblanco City Council aims to strengthen the response capacity for potential cardiac emergencies in public spaces, municipal facilities, educational and sports centers, social venues, and other high-traffic areas.
The main novelty is the mobile AED in the Local Police patrol car, which complements the existing one at the Police Headquarters, enabling faster intervention anywhere in the municipality. The second AED has been located at the Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno Residence, a sensitive location due to its residents' profile.
