The Almería City Council has exceptionally authorized the extension of operating hours for the seven 'ambigús' (entertainment venues) set up for the Midday Fair, allowing them to stay open until 7:00 PM instead of the initially planned 5:00 PM closing. This measure will be in effect from Friday, August 21st, until August 29th.
The mayor, María del Mar Vázquez, has issued a municipal decree authorizing the "exceptional" installation of sound reproduction or amplification equipment, as well as "small-format" live performances on terraces and outdoor seating areas. The deadline for these activities will be 7:00 PM, provided establishments comply with all other regulatory and licensing conditions.
Music must conclude by 6:45 PM to facilitate the closure and subsequent cleaning of public spaces, with the aim of having the area completely cleared by 7:30 PM for municipal cleaning services. This extension is an exceptional authorization specifically linked to the Fair period and does not alter other establishment obligations.
The decision is based on Article 17 of the Almería Fair and Festivals Ordinance, which allows for the modification of operating hours under special circumstances. For visitors, this means two additional hours of activity and more time to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
