The event, held this Monday, served to demonstrate the joint work of the different units in ensuring public safety. Although Pozoblanco was initially set to host all commemorative acts for the 182nd anniversary of the Civil Guard's founding, these will now be moved to Córdoba capital.
“"A decision made after the tragedy of Adamuz, which has led the General Directorate of the Civil Guard to want to celebrate the national founding this year in Córdoba, as support and reinforcement for the work done in that catastrophe."
Despite the change of location for the main celebration, the open day in Pozoblanco was maintained, allowing students to get a close look at the command's resources and specialties. Among the units present were traffic, the nature protection service (Seprona), the Pegaso team with its drones, mountain personnel from Granada, divers, and the public safety unit.
One of the most spectacular moments was the arrival of the UHEL-21 helicopter from Seville, followed by a simulation that recreated a vehicle's escape at a checkpoint, a pursuit with drones and cars, and the subsequent arrest of the offender. Schoolchildren also observed the actions of judicial teams, the canine unit, and the Usesic.
The event also included recognition for 45 years of service by the captain chief of Pozoblanco, who will soon retire. The mayor of Pozoblanco joined this tribute, highlighting the work of the officers.
