Sports in the province of Almería continue to make their mark in national competitions. This time, the discipline of powerlifting, though less mainstream, has seen one of its figures rise to prominence. The athlete from Huércal-Overa has positioned herself among the elite in strength sports after being crowned Spanish Subjunior Champion at the event held in Humilladero, Málaga.
The sportswoman delivered an outstanding performance in the -57 kg category, lifting a total of 340 kg. Her lifts included 122.5 kg in squat, 77.5 kg in bench press, and 140 kg in deadlift, demonstrating exceptional skill in the competition.

Thanks to this extraordinary achievement, the athlete scored 80.90 GL points, placing her at the top across all female categories in the championship. This resounding success has secured her a spot to represent Spain in the upcoming European Powerlifting Championship, a significant accomplishment for both the athlete and the Club Power de Huércal-Overa.
Furthermore, another member of the Club Power de Huércal-Overa also achieved a notable result. Competing in the Andalusian AEP2 Cup in the -84 kg category, she managed to lift a total of 345 kg, comprising 137.5 kg in squat, 87.5 kg in bench press, and 120 kg in deadlift. These impressive figures earned her the silver medal and the title of Andalusian runner-up, capping off a historic weekend for local sports.
