The incident occurred on April 19, when the Civil Guard's Command and Coordination Center in Almería (062) received an alert about an injured person in a hard-to-access area. The nearest patrol was immediately dispatched to assess the situation.
After confirming the challenging terrain and the condition of the injured individual, Health Services were activated, and the intervention of the GREIM and the Civil Guard's Saer Helicopter, from the Granada Command, was requested for the evacuation.
The Civil Guard patrol and Health Services remained with the injured person until the rescue team arrived. Ultimately, the GREIM successfully evacuated the hiker, transporting them to Torrecárdenas Hospital in Almería.
