The forest fire, which has affected thousands of hectares in the region, has caused numerous domestic animals to be left behind or to flee due to the flames. In response, the Civil Guard Command of Almería has issued a statement requesting citizen collaboration to help locate and rescue all affected pets.
The main objective of this appeal is to facilitate the reunion of these animals with their families, who are temporarily housed in designated points in towns such as Moácar, Lubrín, or Garrucha.
To organize aid efficiently, the Civil Guard has centralized management through the Animal Protector 'Furia'. This group is already working on the ground with other provincial animal shelters to coordinate efforts.
A call is made to anyone who has lost their pet during the evacuation or the evolution of the fire in the affected area. Likewise, collaboration is requested from residents who have found disoriented, injured, frightened, or unidentified dogs or other domestic animals in the vicinity of the fire perimeter.
In both cases, please contact immediately via the emergency phone number: 603 148 989. The Command and animal welfare groups thank in advance for the maximum dissemination of this message during these difficult times for the residents and their pets.
