The Vejer Town Council has unveiled the full program for this anticipated edition, promising five days of activities for residents and visitors alike. The fair will pay tribute to Grazalema, one of the Andalusian municipalities most affected by heavy rains last February.
The opening ceremony, on Wednesday, April 15, will feature the traditional lighting of the extraordinary illuminations, led by Carlos Javier García, mayor of Grazalema. This gesture will officially mark the beginning of the festivities and the various scheduled activities.
The program includes a wide variety of events that will take place both in the fairgrounds and in the municipal marquee. There will be concerts, musical performances, competitions, gastronomic tastings, and a parade that will tour the main streets of the municipality.
Among the highlights, Thursday, April 16, will see the entry of cattle, sheep, and horses, as well as a petanque competition and flamenco performances. On the same day, rides will operate without music for two hours, allowing children with noise sensitivity to enjoy them. The Fair Parade will liven up the streets in the afternoon, followed by children's shows and competitions for couples dressed in Andalusian attire.
Friday, April 17, known as Women's Day, will feature the inauguration of the XXXVI Morphological Contest of Selected Retinto Cattle and the VI Limousin Cattle Contest. The day will include tastings of "Vino Clarito," performances of coplas and sevillanas, equestrian exhibitions, and a concert by María de la Colina.
On Saturday, April 18, football fans can enjoy a veterans' match. There will also be ribbon races, a sevillanas gathering, and the musical bingo "Movingo." The afternoon will be enlivened with musical performances and a competition for foals, fillies, mares, and horses. The night will culminate with the group «Los Aguafiestas» and DJ Valentino García.
Finally, on Sunday, April 19, the morphological cattle contest will conclude with the awards ceremony. The closing day will feature flamenco performances by Susana Romero and the flamenco group «El Cañejo», as well as recognitions for participants in the horse exhibition and performances by «Gitana Blanca» and «Los Dinosaurios».
The fair will feature 16 marquees in the fairgrounds, offering local gastronomy and a festive atmosphere. Additionally, there will be security points, medical assistance, and a children's nursery. Horses will be protagonists, with daily parades and equestrian activities scheduled for April 16, 17, and 18. The Vejer Spring Fair has established itself as one of the most prominent in Andalusia, attracting numerous visitors each year.
