This weekend, the capital of Axarquía will be the meeting point for over 1,200 dancers from various regions of Spain, including Andalusia, Madrid, Tenerife, Barcelona, and Murcia. Participants will showcase their skills in an approximately eight-hour event, featuring different categories adapted to ages and styles.
The competition, organized by the urban dance school The New Crew, will feature a top-tier jury composed of recognized professionals in the sector. These include Josh Price, Idoia Allende, Karu Rivera, Iván Santander, and Adri Romero, who will evaluate the technique, originality, synchronization, and staging of the choreographies presented.
“"It is a unique opportunity to promote the Vélez-Málaga brand nationwide. We are a municipality committed to sports and the organization of major events, and this is a great example of that."
The event not only aims to highlight urban dance talent but also to promote the image of Vélez-Málaga as a benchmark in organizing major sports and cultural events. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend, including participants, technical staff, and the public. Cash prizes and trophies totaling over 6,000 euros will be awarded to the top performers in each category, in addition to 1VS1 battles.
The local school The New Crew has been instrumental in consolidating Vélez-Málaga as an important hub for hip hop and urban dance, having won numerous national championships in recent years.
