The municipality's Department of Sports has announced that the registration period for the Municipal Summer Sports Camps will run from 00:00 on Friday, June 5, to 14:00 on Monday, June 8. Interested families can pre-register children aged 4 to 14 through a digital form provided by the Council, in person at the General Registry Office, or via the local electronic headquarters.
This year, a total of 920 places will be offered, divided into 580 vacancies for the first two sessions and 340 for the third. The fee per place and session will be 50 euros. The mayor, Francisco Salado, highlighted the success of this initiative, aimed at facilitating family work-life balance during the summer and promoting sports and healthy habits among young people.
The camps will take place over three different periods between June 24 and September 9, running from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Activities will include disciplines such as swimming, basketball, football, table tennis, volleyball, and crafts. The main venues will be the Rubén Ruzafa Indoor Pavilion in Torre de Benagalbón, the Sports Center on Malvaloca street, and the Gregorio Marañón and Josefina Aldecoa schools.
The place allocation system will be based on a scoring system that prioritizes registered children whose parents are working. 5 points will be awarded if both parents work (or single-parent families), 3 points if only one parent works, 2 points for being registered in the municipality, and 1 point for large families. In case of a tie in points, places will be awarded based on the strict order of application submission. Required documentation must be submitted during the initial pre-registration period.
In parallel, the municipal swimming pools in Rincón de la Victoria and Benagalbón will offer swimming courses for various ages and levels, with registrations opening on Monday, June 8, on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, the Social Welfare Department has organized an adapted camp at the BeOne Sports Center for minors with specific educational support needs, offering 15 places per session. Applications for this adapted camp must also be submitted between June 5 and 8, along with relevant medical certificates and proof of employment for guardians.
