The specific areas under alert include Cazorla and Segura, as well as the Capital and the Montes de Jaén. There is an expected probability of between 40% and 70% for accumulated rainfall of up to 15 mm in a single hour.

The warnings will be active from 13:00 to 20:00 hours, covering the central and afternoon periods, during which AEMET anticipates the highest storm activity. The province of Jaén thus joins eight other autonomous communities that will also be under warning for adverse weather phenomena across various parts of the Peninsula.

The meteorological instability is due to the presence of a subtropical air mass, which will lead to cloudy skies with intervals of medium and high clouds. From midday onwards, abundant cloud development is expected, with showers and storms that may occasionally be accompanied by hail and strong gusts of wind. In the Eastern Béticas, where a large part of the province is located, the showers could be locally intense.

Regarding temperatures, AEMET forecasts a decrease in maximum temperatures in the southern half of the peninsula, while minimum temperatures will tend to rise in the interior of Andalusia. Citizens are advised to exercise extreme caution during the warning period, especially in mountainous areas and in ravines or riverbeds susceptible to sudden rises in water levels due to intense rainfall.
